VanDuzer Sets Career High in 7-3 Victory

NEWARK, NY—Kannon VanDuzer’s 7.1 innings pitched sets a new career high for the
right-hander, as the Elmira Pioneers picked up a 7-3 victory over the Newark Pilots,
Tuesday, at Colburn Park.
VanDuzer’s original high came in the 2025 season, with the Geneva Red Wings, where
Kannon threw 6.1 innings against the Elmira Pioneers. In the contest with Newark,
VanDuzer threw two strikeouts, and only allowed three earned runs.
William Nee would get his first appearance of the season, on the rubber, throwing just
0.1 innings gaining a strikeout while allowing three baserunners. Sam Watts would enter
in relief and closed out the contest to pick up his first save of season.
The Pioneers bats would light up with 11 hits in the game, with three hits being extra
base hits. Jalyn Tidwell went 2-3 on the day, with a double and a triple with an RBI. Jack
Tubman led the team with two RBI, and Brett Baker reached home twice in the game.
