Pios Run Up the Score, 17-2

Elmira leaped back from a tough 2 run defeat to the visiting Oneonta Outlaws in astounding fashion tonight as they squared off with the Pilots for the first time this season. The hometown side jumped Newark starter McKinley Scott for 7 runs prior to his pulling with just an inning and a third having gone by.

Elmilien Pitre had a big 2 run RBI single and Ben Schorr knocked in one himself in the first inning alone. The second saw the Pilots get 2 back on the board but the unstoppable bottom of the second followed. Cam Hill, Dom Popa, Robby Barrientos, and Justin Taylor all added big RBI hits to the board and score was 10-2 Elmira after 2.

Andy Drums' boys managed to tack on 7 more runs over the next three frames as Carson Hobbs held the Pilots quiet after that Top of the 2nd rough patch, and the mercy run rule was called in to effect after Newark batted in the 5th with the game clearly won by Elmira 17-2.

The Pioneers are back on the road tomorrow to battle the Niagara Power for the second time this season at Sal Maglie Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6pm. Set your notifications and make sure you don't miss a minute of the action on YouTube and Mixlr.
