PIONEERS KEEP FOOT ON THE GAS FOR VICTORY OVER GENEVA

Geneva, NY—The Elmira Pioneers make up their loss just a week ago against Geneva by defeating the Redwings at home 6-3 Wednesday.

Manny Castro would reach base four times in a row in the contest going 3-4 with a walk and an RBI. Brett Baker had a multi-hit game going 2-5 and Tysan Gingerich crossed home twice for the Pioneers.

Mikey Geisler threw four and two thirds’ innings with just seven men getting on the base path, two earned runs and six strikeouts. Sam Watts pitched the final four and a third with one earned run, no walks and three hits with three punchouts. Watts had his longest outing of the season and would be credited with the win.

The next game for Elmira is Thursday July 23^rd in Newark against the Pilots.
