PIONEERS COMEBACK IN THE NINTH FOR SEASON SWEEP OF OLEAN

OLEAN,NY—The Elmira Pioneers entered the ninth inning down by a run and score five to take down the Olean Oilers 11-7, Friday, to sweep the four game season series.

The Pioneers started the first six innings of the ball game by scoring four runs off the bats of Manny Castro and Alex Davis, along with help from a passed ball that Tyler Adamo scored on. In the bottom of the sixth and seventh Olean would score seven to take the 7-4 lead. Through the eighth and ninth the Pioneers would get on top of Olean’s bullpen to score seven runs and win the ball game.

Caleb Delaney went 4-4 in the game, with an RBI, Alex Davis went 2-4 with two RBIs. Brett Baker and Tyler Adamo would hit doubles in the game.

Brenden Hayes started the game with six innings pitched that struck out a pair with seven hits allowed three runs passing, none of which were earned. Lukas Rylander would pitch the final two innings and picked up the win only having one base runner while recording the six outs.
