Pioneers are back-to-back West Division Champions – Move on to PGCBL Championship

[Elmira, NY - July 30, 2024] -  The Elmira Pioneers Baseball team are West Division Champions for the 2024 PGCBL Season. 

The Pioneers won the West Division in 2023 and will return to the PGCBL Championship for the 2nd consecutive season as they defeat the Batavia Muckdogs at Dwyer Stadium by a score of 6-3.  Corning native Zack Nelson was on the mound for the entire game and helped take down the #1 seed Muckdogs.

“Coach Drum got it Done!” Owner Robbie Nichols was ecstatic after the final pitch.  “We can’t wait to have Dunn Field packed for the championship.  We need everyone to show up and be loud”

The Championship game will be a best of 3 series with Elmira will play the Amsterdam Mohawks for the league title.  The Pioneers start the series at home on Thursday August 1st at 6:35 PM. Tickets to the game will be free thanks to Blaze Brockway Contracting.
