Pioneers Announce Signings from Auburn

The Pioneers are proud to announce their 2021 team is beginning to take form as they are proud to welcome Pitcher Jack Sokol, Pitcher/First Baseman Cam Hill, and Catcher Ben Schnorr from Auburn to the 2021 roster.


Sokol is a freshman at Auburn and a RHP who holds a 1-0 record with a perfect 0.00 ERA during his freshman year. As a product of New Albany High School and the Ohio Elite and rated the No. 4 player in Ohio according to Prep Baseball Report and the No. 6 player in the state according to Perfect Game. Jack was named a 2019 Perfect Game Preseason High Honorable Mention All-American and posted a career 19-1 record and 1.50 ERA while winning a number of awards, including being named the Ohio Capital Conference Player of the Year, This Week Ohio News Player of the Year and All-Metro Columbus Ohio Player of the Year as well as being named two-time All-Conference and All-District honoree while helping lead his team to back-to-back conference and district championships.


Hill is a freshman at Auburn and plays both as an LHP and a first baseman. Cam is a product of Bob Jones High School and Team Georgia National and was the top-rated southpaw in Alabama and the No. 8 overall player in the state, according to Perfect Game. Hill is a top-300 player nationally and was named a 2019 Perfect Game Preseason Third Team All-American and was named ASWA First Team All-State in each of the last two seasons. As a pitcher Cam turned in a combined 14-4 record and 1.96 ERA while on the offensive side he also hit 32 doubles, 22 home runs and 95 RBI at the plate during his final three campaigns.


Schnorr is a freshman at Auburn and a catcher. Ben is a product of Columbus High School and the East Coast Sox Select where he was rated by Perfect Game as the No. 3 catcher in Georgia. Schnorr participated in the Perfect Game National Showcase on a pair of occasions and was named to the 2018 Jr. National Showcase Top Prospect Team. Ben played and started in 68 games while turning in nine home runs and 53 RBI as a sophomore and junior and was named a two-time Columbus Ledger-Enquirer All-Bi City and Georgia Dugout All-State honoree where helped lead his team to the 4A Regional Final in three straight seasons and the state quarterfinals twice.


“We have had success with our relationship with Auburn in the past. Brody Moore was a big part of our team in 2019 and we think we have a lot of talent coming from Auburn again this season. Jack, Cam, and Ben come with very strong reputations and we are excited to see them at Historic Dunn Field.” Matt Burch said about the signings.
