Pioneers All Star Starter Gets All League First Team Honors!

The Pioneers continue to turn out top quality pitchers as Noah Rubino claimed All League First Team honors.

Rubino is a 6’5, 205 lbs freshman pitcher at Siena who calls Guildford, CT home. Noah had a 3-2 record with the Pioneers this season with a 2.12 ERA. As a starter, Rubino pitched 8 games for the Pios throwing 42.1 innings, 36 strikeouts, 19 bases on balls and allowing only 34 hits. Noah was named to the PGCBL All Star game and was named the starter for that game.

When asked for comment on the award-winning pitcher owner Robbie Nichols put it plainly “Fans in Elmira are lucky to have the opportunity to watch future MLB faces as they grow and mature in the PGCBL. The Pioneers organization has hosted thirteen players currently playing in the Minor or Independent leagues right now and we are sure with his drive and effort Noah will be another positive reflection on what we continue to do here in Elmira.” Nichols went on to say “It’s no surprise our pitchers continue to do well as Matt Burch, a former major league pitcher himself, continues to churn out future stars. Elmira and the Pioneers are the obvious first choice for any pitcher who wants to have a major league career.”

The Pioneers are now looking forward to the 2020 season as Pioneers season tickets are now available. Get yours today! Call (607) 734-2690
