Elmira Pioneers Roster Continues to Take Shape

The Pioneers continue to put a strong team together as they are now prepared to announce two more additions, this time from Siena College, Pitcher Noah Rubino and Infielder Davis Zerr.

Rubino is a 6’5, 205 lbs freshman pitcher at Siena who calls Guildford, CT home. Before arriving at Siena, he Noah tossed three no-hitters, held a 0.70 ERA, while allowing just 23 hits, six earned runs, and a .111 opposing batting average in his Senior year. Rubino was named an All-SCC selection, a Perfect Game All-Star, Connecticut All-Star Team selection in 2018, and an All- League selection during both his sophomore and junior seasons. Noah tallied a 4-2 record with 58 strikeouts in 44 innings in 2017.

Zerr is a 5’10, 185 lbs freshman infielder at Siena from Kent, WA. Davis played shortstop in high school and participated in the Connie Mack World Series in New Mexico with his previous summer team the EnFuego Elite. Zerr’s defensive ability is touted by his current coach at Siena and in seven games played including two started as a freshman his five assists and five putouts it is easy to see why.

“The additions of (Noah) Rubino and (Davis) Zerr give this summer’s squad a lot of upside defensively. We always look to put the best team we can on the field and that starts defensively. Davis and Noah give us a chance to be solid defensively.” Matt Burch said about the newest Pioneers.
