Elmira Pioneers Announce First Signings

The Pioneers are proud to announce their 2019 team is beginning to take form as they are proud to welcome Zach Freiling and Cam Redding from St Louis University to the 2019 roster.

Freiling is an infielder and a sophomore from Palos Heights, IL. Before going to St Louis University, Zach graduated from Chicago Christian Academy. In Freiling’s freshman year he played 16 games earning two starts in which he had a .350 on base percentage. In his second season he has already nearly doubled his games played while hitting .253 with a .398 on base percentage and connecting for two home runs along with 15 walks in 87 at bats.

Redding is a catcher and freshman from Wilmette, IL who attended New Trier High School before committing to St Louis University. This season Cam has already played in 32 games with a batting average of .307 and an on base percentage of .450. Redding has 16 RBI’s and a Triple to his credit this season. In addition, Cam has a .976 fielding percentage.

“We are excited to build a relationship with perennial A-10 powerhouse St Louis. Adding talent like Cam and Zach will continue the strong winning tradition we have established in Elmira!” Matt Burch said about the signings.
