CASTRO & GINGERICH EARN WEEK 8 CO-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

ELMIRA, NY—Manny Castro and Tysan Gingerich become the sixth and seventh

Elmira Pioneers to be honored as West Division Players of The Week for the final week

of the season.

Castro used the week to hit .500, with a double, triple, three RBIs and seven runs. on

the game Wednesday, against Geneva, he got on-base four times batting 3-4 in the

contest.

Gingerich also hit .500 on the week with a double, six RBIs and seven runs. In the game

against Auburn, Tysan hit the two-run double that gave the lead and led to the Pioneers

clinching a spot in the West Division Playoffs.

The Pioneers take on the Jamestown Tarp Skunks on Monday July 27 th at Jamestown

for the West Division Semi-finals with a first pitch at 6:30 PM. The game can be viewed
