Victor Diaz- Right Handed Pitcher
Diaz went 1-1 over the course of four starts for the Pioneers. He finished second amongst starting pitchers with a 1.80 ERA. Diaz surrendered just five earned runs while striking out 18 batters and walking none in 25 innings pitched. We asked Victor about his summer spent in Elmira with the Pioneers and how things went:
"My experience playing for the Pioneers was one that I will never forget. Having the opportunity to play for not only a great ownership group and coaching staff but a huge crowd night after night was great. I not only became a better ball player but a better individual as well. I played with an awesome group of guys and had a great time."
Chris Knott- Outfielder
Knott finished third on the Pioneers with a .315 batting average and suited up in 44 of Elmira's 47 games. Knott paced the Pioneers offensive attack as he lead the team in home runs (4) and finished second with 26 RBI. We asked Victor about his summer spent in Elmira with the Pioneers and how things went:
"Spending this past summer in Elmira gave me the chance to grow both as a player and as a person. My teammates along with the front office staff, coaches and fans made the experience an even greater one."
Chris Kalousdian- Outfielder
"I was lucky enough to play for the Pioneers for two years. To be able to play in Elmira for the second summer in a row was an opportunity I could not throw away. The coaches mad every night fun and I was able to play the game relaxed and confident. The owners treat the players like no other team in the league let alone any other summerball team in the country that I've heard of."
"One of the best parts about playing for the Pioneers is that every home game there are at least a couple thousand fans cheering you on. Elmira is one of the best organizations for summerball from interns, coaches, owners and players. It was truly an unforgettable experience!"
