Pios Get Four In A Row, Defeat Jammers On The Road
The Pioneers looked to extend their current win streak in the PGCBL to four in a row as they took a road trip to Jamestown, NY to take on the Jammers.
The Pioneers started off with singles from Storm Wilson (Kentucky), Rob Perteet (Samford) and Tyler Plantier (UC San Diego) to load the bases with Pioneers. Lucas Denney (Seattle U.) would work a full count and watch a ball low and away to walk in a run to put the Pioneers up 1-0. The Jammers would tack on two runs in the bottom half of the first to get a 2-1 lead on the Pioners.
Denney would again bring in some runs with a two RBI double to right center field to give the Pioneers the lead 3-2.
Spencer Kulman (Wofford) got into a jam in the fifth inning as the bases were loaded with Jammers with no outs. Kulman would thrive under the pressure as he struck out the next two batters he faced and would get the last batter of the inning to ground out to Troy Dixon (Samford).
Parker Caracci (Ole Miss) would pitch the final inning and strikeout one batter to secure the win and earn his sixth save of the season. Kulman would pitch five innings of work and strikeout two batters only giving up two batters. Dylan King (Belmont) would take the loss tossing five innings of work, giving up nine Pioneer hits and three earned runs.
