The Elmira Pioneers got right back into it after the All Star Game as they went on the road to take on the Jamestown Jammers.

Ty Denzer (Kansas) would hit a RBI double to left center to put the Pioneers up 1-0. After that a RBI single from Jason Patnick (Manhattan) and a sacrifice fly from Connor Burns (Samford) put the Pio’s up 3-0 at the top of the first.

The Jammers would answer with three runs of their own to tie the game going into the third inning.

The Pioneers would break that tie in the third inning thanks to RBI singles from Connor Burns and Nick Graham (Penn State) to put the Elmira up 5-3.

The Pioneers really piled it on in the top of the fifth as a RBI double from Burns scored two runs and RBI singles from Zeke Lewis (Kentucky) and Phil Madonna (Siena) would give Elmira a commanding lead of 9-3.

Blake Buckman (U. of Louisiana at Monroe) and Joe Preziuso (Canisius) would pad the lead with a RBI fielders choice and a RBI single to put the Pio’s up 11-3 in the sixth. The Jammers would answer with two runs in the same inning to shorten the lead 11-5.

Kyle Ruth (LIU Brooklyn) would add two insurance runs in the top of the ninth with a RBI double off the left field wall to give the Pioneers a 13-5 lead.

The Jammers would tack on a run in the bottom of the ninth but the Pioneers would shut them down and bring the final score 13-6 in favor of the Pioneers.

Marc Galvan (Manhattan) receives the win pitching five innings giving up three runs on four hits and striking out three. Mike Wilcox (Jamestown C.C.) pitched four innings and gave up eight hits and seven runs only striking out two in the loss.
