Newark, NY

A beautiful day at Colburn Park as the Pioneers looked to gain some momentum on the road before playing in their U.S.A. Homestand at Historic Dunn Field.

The Pioneers wasted no time to get on the board. RBI singles from Tyler Plantier (UC San Diego), Brian Kelly (Siena) and Phil Madonna (Siena) put the Pioneers up 4-0 at the top of the first.

The Pilots would tack on two runs in the fourth  thanks to a Bo-Hao Huang (Fu Jen Catholic University)  RBI single and a sac fly by Acy Owen (Hinds C.C.) to bring the score 4-2.

RBI Singles from Mark Tumosa (UMass Lowell) and Chris Sharpe (UMass Lowell) would tie the game at four which would end Andrew Sipowicz’ (Canisius) night at the mound.

The game went into extra innings but a two out RBI single to left field from Rob Perteet (Samford) brought in Blake Buckman (U. of Lousisiana at Monroe), who reached on an error, to bring the score 5-4 in favor of the Pioneers. That Would do it for Elmira as Parker Caracci (Ole Miss) continued to shut down opposing batters to bring in the win.

Parker Caracci would get the victory striking out four batters in two innings and Brian Dolan (UMass Lowell) receives the loss pitching one inning and giving up the game winning run which was unearned. Andrew Sipowicz would obtain a no decision pitching five and two-thirds striking out five batters and giving up four runs on nine hits.
