With A Win Over Geneva At Home, Pioneers Extend Home Game Winning Streak To 27 Games In Regular Season League Play
On June 10th, 2015, a 9-6 win over Newark started a home game winning streak that would have thought to have ended after a loss at home in the playoffs. However, in regular season play, the Pioneers still have a winning streak intact! A home game winning streak in regular season PGCBL play that was extended from a year and five days ago today and one that has continued in the Elmira Pioneers 2016 campaign.
With four games won at home against Jamestown, Mohawk Valley, Adirondack and Geneva, the 2016 Elmira Pioneers have continued that win streak put in motion by the 2015 Pioneers to 27 games. These wins at home include two walk off singles in the ninth inning, one by Joe Preziuso (Canisius College) and Phil Madonna (Siena College). This past home win was paced by Zeke Lewis (University of Kentucky) who went four for four on the day with four singles and Tyler Plantier (UC San Diego) and three for four with three singles.
