Elmira, NY – The start of the 2016 Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League is just around the corner and the Pioneers are proud to announce the complete roster of players that will call Historic Dunn Field home this summer. The Pioneers are prepared to once again pack Dunn Field after finishing second nationwide in total attendance a season-ago with an average of 3,100-plus fans per game.

Pioneers Head Coach Matt Burch is excited for the 2016 campaign, "Each year we look to build on previous success. The 2016 Pioneer Roster is our best yet. Fans can expect to see talent competing at a high level. With so many high caliber Division I players, it is likely that Pioneers fans will be able to follow these young men all the way to their Major League careers."

Each summer also brings a new group of players looking to work on their skills and gain more experience on the field. Summer baseball also allows for Pioneers Head Coach Matt Burch and his coaching staff to help players develop off of the field, "The summer recruiting process is quite intense. At each level in the game there are only so many roster spots available. We get calls and emails everyday day in the off-season and that is because of the baseball atmosphere at Dunn Field. Baseball is a fraternal game. Players talk and those who play for Elmira or come through as a visiting ballplayer realize what an opportunity it is to play in front of record setting, enthusiastic fans. This positive reputation certainly adds an interest for players to want to play in our community."

The Pioneers home opener is set for Saturday, June 4th vs the Jamestown Jammers. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. and there will be plenty of entertainment for fans including Elmira Business Institute batting helmets for kids along with a huge post game FIREWORK SHOW!! To learn more about becoming a season ticket holder or to renew your seats call the Pioneers front office at 607-734-2690.
