The Elmira Pioneers Thank Fans and Sponsors for Great 2015 Season
With the 2015 season coming to a close, the Pioneers would like to thank the fans, sponsors, host families, volunteers and employees who have made the 2015 season possible. Though the season didn’t end the way we wanted it to, it was still an incredibly successful one both on and off the field.
We saw over 81,000 fans at Dunn Field this season, with an average of 3,377 fans per game. This gives The Pioneers the highest attendance in the league, and we have to thank our fans deeply for making each and every home game an incredible success. With 33 wins in the regular season, the Pioneers have to attribute the energy at home to their incredible 23 game win streak at home.
In addition to the team’s accomplishment, two pitchers achieved league bests on the mound. Justin Hayes of the University of Kentucky had the lowest ERA in the league with a 1.36. Kyano Cummings of Siena College led the league in strikeouts with 74, and is currently tied for most in a PGCBL season.
The Pioneers broke the record for most runs scored in a season this year, and though we didn’t bring home a championship, we are incredibly proud of our incredible season. Those in the organization cannot thank those who supported us this year enough, and we promise to bring an exciting 2016 season. Thank you great fans of your Elmira Pioneers.
