Getting the loss in this game for Victor was right hander Luke Tomczyk (Monroe CC). The hurler went going 4+ innings, giving up three hits, 4 runs, and striking out 5. He falls to 1-2 on the season. Victor got on the board first early in this one, scoring in the bottom of the second. Evan Fernandez (Jacksonville University) was hit by a pitch, stole second, and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Drew Kissel (St. Catherine's College) drove him home to give Victor a 1-0 lead.

Elmira knotted up the game at one in the fourth inning. First baseman Christian Santisteban (Manhattan College) walked, and left fielder Hayden Kelly (Florida State University) was hit by a pitch. Third baseman Tyler Plantier (UC-San Diego) then hit a groundball to shortstop Aaron Endres that was misplayed as it got under his glove and trickled into center field. That allowed Santisteban to come home and score the tying run.

In the fifth inning, Elmira again took advantage of poor Victor defense to take the lead. Shortstop Taylor Hillson (Mansfield University) lined a single to into centerfield to begin the inning. Will LaRue (Xavier University) then bunted up the third base line and beat out for a base hit. Hillson aggressively went to third on the play and first baseman Chris Kemp(Indiana University-Southeast) threw to third base but it was unoccupied. As a result, the ball went into foul ground beyond 3rd base and Hillson came around to score. Later in the inning, LaRue advanced to third on a ground ball off the pitcher and then scored on a Kelly sac fly, making the score 3-1.

Elmira finished its scoring in the sixth inning when 3 straight walks and a hit by pitch, all with 2 outs, brought in another run to bring the score to 4-1 in favor of the Pioneers.

Victor would score once more in the ninth inning on a Dale Wickham RBI single which brought home Kissel but Ryan Bellomo (Siena College) would shut down the Railriders giving Elmira the 4-2 victory.

LaRue finished 2-4 for the Pioneers with 2 runs scored. Kissel had a nice day at the dish for Victor, going 3-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

Mark Giallanzo (Herkimer College) and Jesse Bogacz (Kenyon College) combined to throw the last 3 1/3 innings of the game, giving up just 1 hit and striking out 3. Ryan Bellomo, despite giving up one run was able to pick up a PGCBL leading fifth save for Elmira.

Also coming into the game for the Pioneers was Mike Korchak (Bucknell) and Andrew Mahoney (Mississippi State). The two pitchers combined to throw two innings giving up one hit and walking only one batter.
