After dominating the Glens Falls Golden Eagles in the Elmira Pioneers' 2-0 win on Tuesday, Sam Sinnen has been recognized as the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League Co-Pitcher of the Week. Sinnen, who was honored along with Newark's Robert Robbins, delivered seven shutout innings for the Pioneers, allowing just two hits while striking out three.
Overall on the season, the rising sophomore right-hander out of Old Dominion has yet to allow a run in 12 innings pitched for the Pioneers, proving to be the Pioneers' most effective pitcher thus far in 2014. Sinnen's first start was a rain-shortened complete-game shutout on June 10th in which he struck out nine Newark Pilots without walking a batter.
With players like Sam Sinnen leading the way, the Pioneers' 2014 has been as exciting as ever. You will not want to miss out as the Pioneers play at home at Dunn Field this Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. For tickets, visit the Dunn Field Front Office or call 607-734-2690 for information.
