Elmira, NY- The Elmira Pioneers have added two players from Ithaca College for the upcoming 2013 season. Jasper Adams and Colby Gee come to Elmira from the Bombers program that competes in the Empire 8 Conference. Ithaca is in the midst of a 16 game winning streak that has them sitting at 22-4 on the season with a 7-0 record in conference play.

Adams hails from Amherst, Mass. and is entering his senior year as a student. The 6’4” right handed pitcher missed the 2012 season due to an injury and is listed as a red shirt-junior. When asked about the addition of Adams, Pioneers manager Matt Burch stated “Jasper's experience will be welcomed on a pitching staff that will feature many young arms”.

During the 2011 campaign for the Bombers, Adams made three starts along with five relief appearances. In 22 plus innings of work Adams allowed four earned runs to go along with a 1.59 ERA while fanning 14 batters. Adams is a 2009 graduate of Amherst Regional High School where he was the 2007 Mass. Pitcher of the Year. Click here to view Jasper Adams’ career stats.

Gee hails from Freeville, N.Y. and is entering his junior year as a student. The 6’0” third baseman was named First Team All-Empire 8 in 2012. Gee also notched his first collegiate home run in a Bombers Win against Claremont. Manager Burch said of Gee, “Colby is the type of player that will have dirty uniform at the end of each day”.

The Freeville native graduated from Dryden High School in 2010 and earned all-state honors along with a all-conference selection his senior year. During his freshman season, Gee, was one of the Bombers top freshmen as he lead his class in slugging percentage and was a close second in hits. Click here to view Colby Gee’s careers stats.
