Double-Header Foiled by Rain

Only One Game was Played Due to Rain

Elmira N.Y. June 30, 2013 –

The Elmira Pioneers barely got a game in today as the rain hindered almost every aspect of baseball. In what was supposed to be a double-header there was only one seven inning game. The Pioneers fall 9-1 to the Watertown Rams in a shortened seven inning game.

The day started off nice and it looks as if the rain would hold off for both games. The rain did not hold off as we had a rain delay in the bottom of the fifth and once that game was finished, they couldn’t even start the second game as the rain was just too brutal.

The Elmira Pioneers hit the road tomorrow, but are back in town July 2nd for GUARANTEED WIN NIGHT versus the Newark Pilots. On July 4th the Pioneers are home against the Niagara Power for Elm Chevrolet FREE MINI-BAT NIGHT for the first 1,000 kids in attendance. Remember fans that on July 5th the Pioneers will be playing the Cooperstown Hawkeyes once again and after the game there will be MORE FIREWORKS, FIREWORKS, and FIREWORKS! So come on out and support your home team Elmira Pioneers. For ticketing information call 734-2960, and for more up-to date information visit www.elmirapioneers.com
